Information for families

Please see our comprehensive list of jargon-free information sheets, written by clinicians at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH).

In addition, we have the following specific information sheets:

Wards

Victoria Ward is a 16-bedded ward for babies, infants, children and adolescents with kidney problems. Patients include those from day case admissions to longer inpatient admissions and where appropriate patients and families may be housed in the patient hotel.

We work closely with the clinical nurse specialists in dialysis and transplantation, as well as having strong links with the Urology Unit.

We endeavour to provide family-centred care believing that children thrive when both they and their families are empowered and supported by staff.

Children are managed by the multi-disciplinary team of doctors, nurses, dieticians, pharmacists, play specialists as well as other members of the psycho-social team.
